Elders Rights & Resources
AoA has a strong commitment to protecting the rights of seniors. Our community-based long-term care programs allow millions of seniors to age in place with dignity. AoA also supports a range of activities at the state and local level designed to prevent elder fraud and abuse, inform seniors of their rights, and help them to make end-of-life decisions. AARP and Walgreens: Knowledge You Can Trust
AARP and Walgreens are working together to put adults 50 and over in charge of their medicine, health and lives. Our alliance provides literature on the wise use of medications and sponsors community events in coordination with AARP state offices.
At these events, Walgreens will offer customers one-on-one consultations with pharmacists to review prescriptions and to advise people about drug interactions and side effects, as well as how to manage risks associated with taking different drugs prescribed by different doctors.
In announcing the alliance, AARP Services President Dawn Sweeney said, "This new relationship will help us help our members break through the clutter and take ownership of their health and wellness."
We encourage you to explore some of these free resources on AARP's website and on Walgreens' website.
